YOUR SUPPORT GOES A LONG WAY, EVEN SAINT'S NEED HELP

Our rescue received a tip that there were several St. Bernards abandoned at a property in IL. When we arrived today we discovered one of the worst back yard breeding setups this far.
There were feces, bacteria-infested water, snakes, rats and dead puppy corpses throughout the small fenced in yard.
After further investigation, we learned there were at least 7 adult dogs loving in the space shown in the images with at least 2 sets of litters. The one female m captured today is only 9 months old and has already had a litter.
Local animal control is investigating the older dogs, however today we successfully captured 4, 12 week old puppies and a 9 month old female. They are currently being taken under foster and vet care. Once we have a good accessment of their condition we will update them for adoption.
Please consider donating towards their vetting by visiting

When you make a donation, you help one of our rescues get the vetting they need. Every year Saint Bernard Rescue Group rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes dogs to families throughout the US.

Thus far, SBRG has raised $247 towards the care of these rescues. We cannot do this without you.

EVEN ST. BERNARD'S NEED HELP

Please help combat puppy mills - Donate

What's wrong with puppy mills? Puppy mills are dog breeding operations that put profit over the health and well- being of the dogs and these mistreated dogs sold at top dollar to unsuspecting consumers every day. Dogs living in puppy mills receive little to no veterinary care (and puppy mill owners often provide veterinary care without anesthesia or veterinary training). The bottom line is that puppy mills are all about profits. Any money spent on veterinary care, quality food, shelter, or staff to care for the dog's cuts into the profit margin.
You may ask the question why would anyone want to treat St. Bernard's? Many do not realize there are an estimated 10,000 puppy mills in the US and over 2 million puppies bred in mills each year. This is staggering considering 1.2 million dogs are euthanized in shelters every year. St. Bernards and other XXL breed dogs are the first to be euthanized due to their size, eating requirements and space. So if there is any breed that needs the most help in the area, it's St. Bernards and other XXL breed dogs.
My rescue, Saint Bernard Rescue Group is working hard to combat this. We value dogs of all breeds, but we specialize in rescuing giant breeds and their mixes from euthanasia. We work to promote the rescue of these dogs and specifically target rural areas where these dogs are routinely euthanized. We also promote the spay and neuter of animals to prevent unwanted animals from being euthanized. This is an expensive task. The average dog over 100 pounds cost $500 to spay or neuter. That does not include parasite testing, vaccinations and ongoing care as the larger the breed the bigger hip problems and genetic problems can become. Often we are short funded and many of our volunteers fund out efforts out of pocket limiting our efforts. Our average donation is $10.
You can help us solve our funding issue and help us provide care to more rescues. Your support is crucial to our efforts to rescue dogs from puppy mills, protect them from euthanasia and become a safer resource for the community to adopt from.
If you are able, we'd love it if you could donate $20, $50 or $100 to help us achieve our mission and keep unsuspecting adopters from promoting puppy mills.
Thank you in advance for your contribution. Your donation will go towards, spay/ neuter, vaccinations, transportation and food needed for our rescues.

ST. BERNARD RESCUE GROUP AT A GLANCE

The Saint Bernard Rescue Group was established to improve the quality of life for St. Bernards that need permanent rehoming. In doing so, we work with a large network of volunteers across north america to educate the public on the breed, reduce over breeding and take action against the inhumane treatment of St. Bernard's.
